Sideline Shutter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

Sideline Shutter is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app can access, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we don't collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data, because there's no server for it to go to.

The short version

Sideline Shutter has no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising network, and no backend server of any kind. Every career, stat, achievement, and player photo you create lives only in the app's private storage on your own device. Nothing you do in the app is ever transmitted anywhere.

What the app can access, and why

PermissionDefaultWhat it's for
CameraOffOnly used if you turn it on in Settings and choose to take a photo for your player card. The photo is saved to the app's local storage on your device and is never uploaded anywhere.
Photo LibraryOn demandOnly accessed if you choose "Choose from Gallery" to pick an existing photo for your player card, or if you save your card back to your library. Nothing is read or written without that specific action.
NotificationsOffOnly used to schedule a local daily reminder if you turn it on in Settings. There's no push notification server involved — the reminder is scheduled entirely on your device.

What we store, and where

Your career progress, stats, achievements, player name, and player photo are stored locally on your device only, inside the app's private storage. They are never synced to a server, never backed up to a third party, and are permanently deleted the moment you use "Reset All Progress" in Settings.

Third parties

Sideline Shutter does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not share data with any third party because it does not collect any data to share. The app does use a small amount of licensed, static audio and font assets bundled inside the app itself (credited in Settings → Credits) — these are files shipped with the app, not live services, and involve no data exchange of any kind.

Children's privacy

Because Sideline Shutter collects no personal data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request the deletion of beyond using "Reset All Progress" on the device itself.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that involves a network connection — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
